A report has indicated that an official announcement for Grand Theft Auto 6 could be made "as early as this week," accompanied by the release of the game's highly-anticipated first trailer a month later.
According to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, inside sources suggest that developer Rockstar Games may unveil the game this week.
The report further mentions that the initial trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to debut in December, coinciding with Rockstar's 25th anniversary celebration.
Rockstar has not yet responded to the article. However, in September 2022, the studio acknowledged the existence of "the next Grand Theft Auto" following a leak of early development footage from the project.
Subsequently, a 17-year-old teenager in Oxfordshire was arrested in connection with the hack, executed from a Travelodge in Bicester.
Although Rockstar assured that the leak did not cause any disruptions to their live game services or have a lasting impact on ongoing projects, fans have eagerly awaited further updates on Grand Theft Auto 6 over the past year.
Consequently, numerous speculative theories regarding the game's reveal have been conjured up by fans. Some "desperate" Xbox users even proposed that the announcement would be tied to moon cycles, while others have reached for far-fetched hints within Grand Theft Auto 5's Halloween event.
Regarding what is already known about the game before its official unveiling, Bloomberg previously reported that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set in Miami, with protagonists influenced by real-world outlaws Bonnie and Clyde.
